Pope Benedict XVI on Intercultural Encounter

I found this homily by Pope Benedict XVI while researching one of my favorite thinkers, Anicius Manlius Severinus Boethius. To find a homily by the Pope on intercultural interaction (in which I’m interested) and discussing Boethius is a pretty great combination!

In fact, we live in a time of intercultural encounter, of the danger of violence that destroys cultures, and of the necessary commitment to pass on important values and to teach the new generations the path of reconciliation and peace. We find this path by turning to the God with the human Face, the God who revealed himself to us in Christ.

-Pope Benedict XVI

Saint Severinus Boethius, pray for us and our world of (all too often violently) interacting cultures.
